Procedure: Fractional Laser This 58-year-old female presented to the clinic to discuss concerns regarding sun-damaged skin and wrinkles, particularly around the mouth and cheeks. Despite prior efforts including other laser treatments, photo facials, and microdermaplaning, she was dissatisfied with results. To address her concerns, we discussed an in-office fractional laser under local anesthesia and oral sedation.
When viewing her photos both before surgery and 3 months after surgery, there is a remarkable improvement in the fine lines and wrinkles that contributed to the aged appearance of her skin. These photos demonstrate the near disappearance of some fine lines and softening of deeper existing wrinkles, which are a direct result of the laser resurfacing treatment. The uniform complexion and softened skin tone are especially noticeable in the area around her mouth and cheeks.
