The Vbeam® Perfecta is the most advanced pulsed dye laser available today. It is a safe and effective tool for treating a variety of skin concerns including spider veins, facial telangiectasias, rosacea and rhinophyma, scars, and vascular birthmarks. Pulsed dye lasers use gentle bursts of intense light that target select areas of the skin where they are absorbed by blood vessels and melanin pigmented areas. There are minimal side effects. In fact, pulsed dye lasers have been used since the 1980s to successfully treat infants and young children with port-wine stain birthmarks.
Men and women in good physical health who are looking to improve the condition of the skin without invasive surgery or lengthy downtime may be good candidates for treatment with the Vbeam® Perfecta laser. Conditions like spider veins, facial telangiectasias, rosacea and rhinophyma, scars, and vascular birthmarks are commonly treated. The Vbeam® can be used to lessen and eliminate red and brown pigmented lesions and generally firm the skin of the entire face for total facial rejuvenation, or it can be used for spot-treatment of sunspots, scars, and other blemishes. A qualified physician can help you to determine if treatment is right for you. Factors like age, type, and color of lesions, and the location on the body will all be considered when determining eligibility for treatment.
Treatment with the Vbeam® Perfecta is tailored to the individual patient and their specific concerns. The patient typically sits in a reclined position and protective eyewear is placed over the eyes. Bursts of light are then delivered to the target area. Patients typically experience little more than a warming or tingling sensation, making anesthesia unnecessary. In addition, the Vbeam® Perfecta laser uses the patented Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) which incorporates a cooling mist providing consistent cooling during treatment for unparalleled patient comfort while also protecting the skin and minimizing side effects.
There are few side effects from treatment with the Vbeam® Perfecta laser. Some patients experience mild swelling or redness which typically fades within a few hours. Occasionally, a large bruise may result but this typically resolves within three to five days. Results, including a firming or tightening of the treated area, can be seen right away. More than one treatment may be needed depending on the condition. Sun exposure must be avoided before and throughout treatment.
